It’s been a super exciting week and it’s only Tuesday! After a hectic day at the intern, I headed over to The Rocks with a few A&U friends to celebrate the launch of The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. This debut author has already received so much hype regarding the first book in her seven book series – and Bloomsbury has done an amazing job in bringing her novel to Aussie shores.
The Bone Season was launched in a cosy little palm-reading shop that encapsulated the premise of the novel. It was such a cute concept, so kudos to the Bloomsbury team for coming up with it! There was palm-reading and even tarot-reading … and of course I managed to have a go at both of them!
The small venue was packed out by 6PM, and everyone was excited to meet the Bloomsbury team. Unfortunately, Samantha Shannon was being interviewed on national radio at that time and couldn’t skype in to the launch. Hopefully the overwhelming support shown at tonight’s event will convince her to come to Aussie shores one day!
Overall, such a wonderful night. I can’t wait to read all the reviews from the attendees that managed to get a copy of the book tonight. I’m sure they’ll love it as much as I did!
Thank you Bloomsbury Sydney for organising and inviting me to the launch!
